This rapid analysis examined the effect that large magnitude food price changes from 2006 to the present would have on the cost of feeding populations of concern. It bases its analysis on calculations of the current US dollar cost of providing a minimum amount of calories (1900 kcal) for survival of an individual. The analysis indicates that increases in world food prices have lead to a large increase in the cost of meeting minimum nutritional requirements among populations of concern.
